If you like photography you know that long winter nights are excellent for playing with light. Long exposures will create really nice light effects. If you give your images a little boost in Photoshop they will look great on your home page.

So what will you need to create a photo similar to the one below?

• a camera with a long exposure or 'bulb' function
• a tripod
• a torch
• very dark (black is ideal) cloths

All this is necessary to take a nice sharp image. Long exposure will give you time to paint with a torch. Tripod will hold your camera still, so no blurring will occur. And black cloths will prevent a painter to appear in the picture (do not forget to cover face too).

All right if you have everything ready, go to the graveyard, find a nice gravestone, play with the torch, take several pictures (use shutter times around 5 - 10 seconds) and when you're done let's move it to Photoshop.
